1. 2 tsp oil
2. 1 1/2 cups chopped spinach
3. 1 cup soaked and boiled kala chana
4. 1 1/2 cups cooked brown rice
5. 1/2 cup sliced onions
6. 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
7. 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
8. 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
9. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
10. 1 tsp chili powder
11. 1 tsp coriander-cumin seeds powder
12. Salt to taste
13. 2 tbsp finely coriander powder


1. To make kala chana palak pulao, heat the oil in a non-stick pan, add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
2. Now add ginger-garlic paste and capsicum and saute on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
3. Then add the tomatoes and cook on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
4. Low the flame, add spinach, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander-cumin seeds powder, salt and 2 tbsp. of water and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
5. Add kala chana and brown rice and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 more minutes, while stirring occasionally.
6. Serve the palak chana pulao hot garnished with coriander.
