Oats Upma

Oats Upma helps in weight loss and keeps blood sugar levels in a normal range.

1. Rolled white oats, 1 Cup
2. Onion finely chopped, 1 Medium
3. Tomato finely chopped, 1 Medium
4. Curry leaves, 1 stalk
5. Green chilies finely chopped, 2 pieces
6. Coriander leaves finely chopped, 1 Tablespoon
7. Lemon juice extracted and strained, 1 piece
8. Mustard, 1/2 Teaspoon
9. Cumin seeds, 1/2 Teaspoon
10. Turmeric powder, 1/4 Teaspoon
11. Salt to taste
12. Oil 1 Teaspoon


1.Roast white oats, in a heavy pan, for two minutes.
2.Allow cooling; cook roasted oats in 2 cups water for 6-8 minutes.
3.Remove and allow to cool, keep aside. Heat oil in a pan, add seeds, and curry leaves, Chilies, allow spluttering.
4.Add onions, tomatoes, stir-fry for two minutes. Add white oats, turmeric, salt, lemon juice, and coriander.
5.Cover and cook on low heat, till fluffy and excess moisture, evaporates.
Serve hot.
